Plenty of machinery companies put “R&D” on their websites. Alpy Chocolate Machine can point at the paperwork: multiple R&D projects carried out with the support of TUBITAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, and patented technologies that came out of them.
The most visible result is the patented Rotary Depositor Drop Chocolate Line, an in-house Alpy development with more than 40 installations now running worldwide. The programme’s broader output is a generation of machines designed to cut the numbers manufacturers actually budget for: production time, energy consumption, and operating cost.
That is the point of industrial R&D as Alpy practises it. A new depositing program matters because it reduces product waste. A better refining system matters because it lowers energy use per kilogram. The company’s development work is judged on what it does for a customer’s cost per tonne, not on how it reads in a brochure.
Alpy continues to develop these technologies with partners at home and abroad, and to convert them into the competitiveness of its customers in the global chocolate market.
